Every room, and where it stands.

What follows is written from how Aurora works inside a school today. Each room carries a status, so you can tell what is in use from what is still coming.

Fees and receipts

In use today

One ledger for everything a family owes and pays.

  • A counter built for queues. Find the student, take the payment, issue the receipt. Designed around the clerk's throughput, on the shared office computer.
  • One ledger owns the money. Invoices, payments and credit notes live in Fee. Screens render what the ledger returns; they never recompute a balance, a receipt number or an allocation.
  • Fee heads are labels. Tuition, exam, admission, computer lab have no single amount. The amount lives in each class's fee structure, month by month, with calendar and event charges kept apart.
  • Concessions with approval. A percentage or a fixed amount, on the whole bill or a single head, through an approval workflow.
  • Discounts are credit notes. They reduce invoices openly. They are never disguised as payments.
  • Family concessions. Preview, then apply one concession across every verified sibling's invoices in a single atomic, audited step.

Students and families

In use today

People first. Money and marks follow from who they are.

  • Records by session. Enrolment is dated, so a student's classes and sections are true for each year, and past sessions stay readable.
  • Guardians with roles. Contacts carry dates and roles, including who the financial contact is, so the right person is addressed.
  • A family tree you can trust. Siblings are linked only when the school verifies them. A shared surname, phone number or address never creates a relationship.
  • Transport at a glance. An active bus assignment shows on the student without opening another tab.

Admissions

In use today

From the first enquiry to an admission number.

  • Admission numbers. Every admitted child gets a number that follows them through the school.
  • Early admissions. Register next session's children up to six months ahead without disturbing this year's billing.

Transport

In use today

Built for children who ride for a few months, not a whole year.

  • Fares by stop. Each pickup stop belongs to a fare zone, and the zone is recorded when the assignment is made, so re-mapping a stop later cannot rewrite the past.
  • Month-level intervals. Pick the months a child travels. Stops and restarts mid-session bill correctly, gaps included.
  • History that stays true. A route change ends the old assignment and starts a new one. Who travelled, on which route, between which dates, is never overwritten.
  • Morning and afternoon legs are tracked separately.

Results and report cards

Built, rolling out

Marks on one grid, and a marksheet that is ready to print.

  • An overview board for each exam, with the subjects and classes still waiting for marks.
  • Checked prerequisites. Aurora tells you what is missing before you enter marks, not after you print.
  • One marks grid for a class and subject, instead of one sheet per teacher.
  • An A4 marksheet generated from the grid.

Reports and insights

In use today

A report is a definition, not a page. Install the ones you need.

  • A report library with charts, including class-wise analytics.
  • Installable report packs. A school with no bus does not see five empty transport reports. Packs are installed per school and checked continuously.
  • Honest empty states. A report that lacks its set-up says so, instead of showing an empty table that looks like "nobody rides the bus".

Year rollover

Built, rolling out

Plan the next session first. Nothing changes until you commit.

  • A saved plan. Decide who carries over, who has left, and where each class goes. The plan is stored; the live school is untouched until you commit.
  • A class ladder you confirm. Aurora never guesses which class follows which.
  • New fees carried forward. Copy fee structures and transport fares into the new session with a percentage, a flat amount and rounding, then check coverage.
  • Dues warn, they do not block. Old dues stay in the old session.
  • Principal prepares, an administrator commits.

Access and audit

In use today

One sign-in, and a record of who did what.

  • One sign-in for the whole school. The same login opens every room.
  • Roles that mean something. Principal, Accountant and administrator. Every request is authorised on the server from explicit permissions and school scope, never from which buttons the screen happened to show.
  • An audit trail. Changes are recorded in the room that owns them, and a searchable view across rooms answers "what happened in this window".
  • A task feed of what needs doing, filtered to what you are allowed to see.

Messages to parents

Next

Fee reminders, receipts and notices, where parents already are.

  • WhatsApp and SMS together. Individual messages, each to the right contact for the subject.
  • You approve first. Nothing goes out until your office has seen what will be sent.
  • Checked at the last moment. A family that has just paid is not reminded to pay.

This room is designed and costed, not yet in use. We say so plainly.
