FAQ
Everything we are asked
What is Aurora?
Aurora is school management software for Indian schools. It brings fees, students and families, admissions, transport and reports into one system, so the office works from one record and the principal can see where the school stands.
What kind of schools can use Aurora?
Schools that run their fees, student records, admissions and transport from an office. Aurora is built around Indian school practice and is in use at a CBSE school. Tell us your board and size in a demo and we will show how it fits.
Can Aurora manage our school fees?
Yes. You set up fee heads and class-wise fee structures by month, collect at the counter with printed receipts, apply sibling and approved concessions, bill transport month by month, and see dues, collections and refunds in reports.
Can we move our existing student and fee records?
Yes, with our team. Records come across in checked batches: rows that do not pass are set aside, and totals are reconciled before you go live. We did this for our first school. We do not offer a self-service upload today.
Can different staff members have different access?
Yes. Aurora has Administrator, Principal and Accountant roles, and permissions are checked on the server on every request, not only on screen.
Can Aurora generate school reports?
Yes. A library of ready-made reports covers fees, students, admissions and transport, and every report downloads as an Excel sheet, CSV or an A4 PDF.
Does Aurora support multiple classes and sections?
Yes. You set up classes and sections for each session, with capacity, and the class strength report shows headcount by class and section.
Can Aurora help with parent communication?
Not yet. The approval, template and consent screens for parent messages on WhatsApp and SMS are built, but sending is not switched on yet. It is the next release, and nothing will go out unless your office approves it.
Does Aurora handle attendance, timetables or staff management?
No. Aurora covers fees, students and families, admissions, transport and reports. Results are the Academics add-on, built and rolling out. Attendance, timetables, certificates and staff or payroll management are not part of Aurora today, and we will say so plainly in your demo.
Can teachers or parents log in?
Not today. Aurora is used by the school office: administrators, principals and accountants. Teacher and parent screens are not part of the Console yet.
Is my school's data secure?
Each school's data is hosted in the cloud on Aurora's servers, in an environment of its own that is never shared with another school. Access is role based, financial changes leave an audit record, and backups are tested by restoring them. We claim no certifications.
Can Aurora work for CBSE, ICSE and state-board schools?
Fees, fee heads by month, RTE, transport, admissions and student records are common to Indian schools of any board. Aurora is in use at a CBSE school. Board-specific marksheet formats are discussed per school.
How long does setup take?
It depends on your records and your fee structures, so we agree the timeline with you in writing after a demo. We do not quote a standard number of days.
What does Aurora cost?
We quote in writing, per school: the Console core and each add-on itemised, after a demo where we learn your size. There is no price list to decode.
Is there a mobile app?
No. Aurora Console is a web application used by the school office. We will not announce an app before it exists.
Can parents pay fees online?
Not through Aurora today. Fees are collected at the counter, and receipts can be paid by UPI, cash, cheque or bank and recorded in the ledger.
How can I get a demo?
Fill in the short demo form and our team will contact you. You can also write to info@auroraschools.in. The demo is free and uses your own fee heads and questions.
